Catherine H. Powell has quickly gained a reputation for diligently defending the rights and interests of her clients. As a dedicated attorney, Catherine practices Personal Injury Law and Civil Litigation at Hinton & Powell. She is also a member of the the Atlanta Bar Association.
Cate grew up in Atlanta and attended the Westminster Schools. She went on to study Religion and Philosophy at Scripps College in Claremont, California. She completed an honors thesis and graduated cum laude.
During college, Cate was awarded the Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship. Through the scholarship she spent the year after college living in Hyderabad, India, studying interfaith relations and leading a community service project.
Cate then completed a Master of Science in International Affairs at the Georgia Institute of Technology. She graduated magna cum laude. She worked as a research assistant, was awarded the Ivan Allen Legacy Award, and was inducted into the SIGMA IOTA RHO International Studies Honor Society.
Before law school, Cate worked for the Center for Ethics at Emory University.
Cate attended Georgia State University College of Law where she graduated cum laude. During law school, she clerked for Justice Hugh P. Thompson of the Georgia Supreme Court. She worked as a research assistant under Professor Charity Scott and Professor Jonathan Todres. She worked on and was acknowledged in the following law journal publications:

Cate brings her past experiences, her world travel, and her passion for advocacy to her practice. She is also committed to being a leader in her community.
Cate enjoys learning everything she can from her father, Doug Powell, partner at Hinton & Powell. Cate and her husband live in the Candler Park neighborhood in Atlanta and have welcomed their first child in August 2016, Ruth “Sunny”.
